Daisy Edgar-Jones had to explain "Brat Summer" to Glen Powell.

Daisy Edgar-Jones seems like a great person, but there's a special reason she comes in handy in certain circumstances: she was born in 1998, and she is well suited to explain Gen Z slang to clueless millennials like me and Glen Powell.

During an interview with Hits Radio in the UK to promote the film "Twisters," a reporter pointed out to Edgar-Jones that we were living in a "Brat Summer." She replied enthusiastically, "Oh, yes, Brad Summer."

A stunned Powell said, "I've never heard that term before. Never before."

Edgar-Jones was shocked that some of her co-stars didn't know about this summer craze. 'I don't know where you've been,' she said. Everywhere I look there's green."

Powell added, "In South Africa, I don't think it's the Summer of the Brat. (Edgar-Jones then promised to send Powell content for the Brat Summer.

If you, like me before writing this article, know only a little bit about Brat Summer, I got you.

In other words, the movement was inspired by one of the pop girls of the summer, Charli XCX, whose latest album, BRAT, has one of the coolest, most minimalist covers ever.

Thus, while slime green is a big part of the Brat Girl aesthetic, it is only the tip of the iceberg.

Let Miss Charli herself explain what she means. In one interview, she said. 'It can be luxurious or it can be trashy. A pack of cigarettes and a Bic lighter. And a white top with straps. No bra. That's all I need."

But most of the time, a brat's summer is what you (or Serena Williams, or Dua Lipa) make it! Happy Summer, Brats.
