Lisa Kudrow clarifies Jennifer Aniston's claim that she hated audience laughter on "Friends"

Lisa Kudrow did not dislike the laughter of the "Friends" audience, she was just somewhat "annoyed."

Kudrow set the record straight in a new interview after co-star Jennifer Aniston said she (Kudrow) was really annoyed by the laughter while filming the cult TV series.

"Lisa Kudrow hated it when the audience laughed," Aniston said last month when she sat down with Kinta Branson for Variety's "Actors on Actors" series. "She's like, 'Uh, still . I say, "Well, I'm not done. I'm not done yet! I'm not done yet! She says, 'It's not that funny.'"

[6 [In an interview with Rachel Smith on Entertainment Tonight, Kudrow expanded on Aniston's assertion, clarifying that she does not dislike laughter, but that she dislikes it in excess.

"I got annoyed when they laughed for too long," said the star of Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion."

"God bless them, they were so excited to be there that sometimes the laughter would last longer than they would laugh at anything else.

She continued, "I'm not that funny. It wasn't that funny, and I have more to say!' ' I was like, 'I'm sorry,'" she continued.

Asked if she would ever participate again in a sitcom filmed in front of a live studio audience, Kudrow said, "I think I would! Why not?

she told ET while promoting her new TV series "Time Bandits" with Taika Waititi. The show will premiere on Apple TV+ on July 24.

The show is an adaptation of the 1981 film of the same name and follows the adventures of "a boy who discovers a time-traveling portal in his bedroom," according to iMDb.

Kudrow and Aniston co-starred in Friends from 1994 to 2004 and have remained close friends ever since. For example, when they both attended Courteney Cox's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2023. The girls truly said, "We'll be there for you."
