Daisy Edgar-Jones calls Paul Mescall her "best friend for life."

Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescall formed an unbreakable bond on the set of 2020's Normal People.

Edgar-Jones recently spoke to Variety about his latest project and was asked about his recent relationship with Mescal-the two attended the Glastonbury Festival together and a charity event for The Normal People in June.

"Paul is one of my lifelong best friends," she said. He's incredibly down to earth, and I think I am too." [The two met when they were really young during the filming of Normal People. And she is keen for Mescal to be a part of her life for years to come.

"We met when I was 20 and Paul was 22, and I'm so excited to see what 32, 42, and life will bring us," she added.

The actress has gone on to appear in such well-known projects as "Where the Crayfish Cry," but she loves that "Normal People" is a big part of her fans' psyche.

"Like in Glasto, it's still 'Normal People' that I appreciate the most. What I love most is when people say, 'It inspired me to contact my ex-boyfriend.' Especially when they are much older and they say, 'I contacted you to tell you that you were a big part of my history, the person I was dating when I was 17, and thank you for being a part of the tapestry of who I am and my life. I'm a big romantic.

Edgar-Jones will appear in "Twisters," which opens July 19, along with Glen Powell, Kiernan Shipka, and Anthony Ramos.
