Princess Kate shuns the spotlight after Wimbledon appearance

Princess Kate is trying to stay out of the spotlight after making a surprise appearance at this year's Wimbledon Championships.

Princess Kate, who delighted royal watchers and tennis fans with her appearance at this year's Wimbledon with her daughter Princess Charlotte and sister Pippa Middleton Matthews, is reportedly planning to avoid the public eye for the time being.

“Before, she lived her life by the calendar, but now she lives her life and the calendar will follow,” says Robert Jobson, author of the new book, “Princess Catherine Biography: A Biography of the Future Queen.” In an exclusive interview with People magazine, he said.

“She'll be back, but an experience like this changes the way you look at things and the order of things,” he added.

Middleton had largely disappeared from the spotlight following her January hospitalization and subsequent cancer diagnosis. Since announcing that he is undergoing treatment for an unspecified cancer, he has made only two official appearances: at this year's Trooping the Colour and the Wimbledon men's final.

According to one source close to the Princess of Wales, there were only “two dates she wanted” regarding public appearances.

“She wanted to attend Trooping to support the King, and she wanted to attend Wimbledon.

Now Middleton will live “under the radar” until she returns to royal duties, which could be as early as this fall or as late as early next year, the source added.

In June, Princess Kate posted on Kensington Palace's official Instagram account that she was “progressing well,” providing royal fans with updates on her health and well-being.

“But as anyone going through chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days,” the royal continued in the caption. But as anyone going through chemotherapy knows, there are good days and there are bad days. But on the good days, you feel stronger and you want to make the most of being well.”

The royal went on to say that her “treatment is ongoing and will continue for several months.”

“On days when I feel well enough, I am happy to participate in school life, spend personal time doing things that give me energy and positivity, and start a little work at home,” she added.
