Pictures of our biggest celebrities who look very, very young

If you like photo albums of your favorite actors and singers, here's a gallery for you. Many of the biggest celebrities debuted as child actors or teenagers or had famous parents and grew up in the limelight. Whether they started their careers at age 2 or 21, these early photos are nostalgic and fun. Below are photos of some of the biggest celebrities in their youth.

Teenager Lindsay Lohan's photo taken for Bette (a 2000 CBS TV sitcom) is a reminder of how long the actor has been in the business. She began working at the age of 10, and this was only four years later.

What a dapper gentleman Elijah Wood is. His film debut was in 1989 with Back to the Future Part II. He has already made a name for himself as a talented child actor behind the scenes at the Academy Awards. His bow tie is absolutely adorable.

America Ferrara, who got her breakthrough in “Real Women Have Curves,” was only 17 years old when the film was released. At the Sundance Film Festival, she looked exactly the same as she does now. She has aged like a fine wine.

Matthew Broderick's baby is very cute. This was taken in 1983, right around the time of his first film roles (“WarGames” and “Max Dugan Returns”). Ferris Bueller” appeared a few years later.

This portrait of Kirsten Dunst circa 1993 is very much foreshadowed by the cheerleader film Bring It On, which was not released until 2000. Here she is about 10 or 11 years old and started acting at age 3 (...) and “Interview with the Vampire” was released a year later.

Johnny Depp at the nightclub “Limelight” circa 1988. Incidentally, Depp's acting debut (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”) was in 1984, when Depp was only about 25 years old. Earrings, graphic T-shirts, and glorious hair chouches are all 80s trends.

Even before “Dawson's Creek,” Michelle Williams was acting: here she is literally a teen in a 1995 episode of “Home Improvement” (she must have been 14 or 15 when this aired). The Dawson's appeared in 1998 and was her breakout film.

Did you know that before Jacob Elordi emerged as an actor, he was the winner of the 2012 Senior Men's Fashion on the Field? He was only 15 years old, and his acting career would not begin for another seven years. If you're wondering, “Kissing Booth” was released in 2018.

This “casual” 1992 portrait of Jennifer Lopez was apparently taken when she was about 23, right around the time of her TV debut (1991's In Living Color). Her breakthrough in “Serena” came in 1997, so she is a regular rising star here.

Look at that hair gel. Timothée Chalamet is a relative baby at the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards. If you want to feel old, this is the same year Chalamet graduated high school (even though he started acting in commercials as a kid in 2008).

Here, the late Heath Lederer poses for the 1997 Fox show Roar. Ledger was about 18 at the time and in the process of accepting a role on the Australian show; 10 Things I Hate About You was released only a few years later, in 1999.

Gabrielle Union was not yet 18 here in 1990, and this was her “sitcom era” (if you missed it, she appeared in “Saved by the Bell,” “Sister, Sister,” “Smart Guy,” “Moesha,” “7th Heaven” and Friends). She looks older in reverse.

If you didn't know that Tracee Ellis Ross is the daughter of Diana Ross (pictured here with her sister Rhonda), take a look at this photo. Tracey is on the left and Rhonda is on the right, and Tracey is only one to two years old here. She also totally looks like herself.

Jennifer Lawrence, appearing at the “The Burning Plain” photocall at the Venice International Film Festival in 2008, is just starting out in her film career and is only about 18 years old here. Despite her regrettably 00s-style thin eyebrows (we've all been there), Lawrence is lovely and fabulous here.

This is 15-year-old Ariana Grande (here at Planet Hollywood as part of the cast of the Broadway show “13”). The role of Cat Valentine in “Victorious” was set two years after this, and then she was off to the races.

Yes, this is Zoë Kravitz. She has the coolest mom (Lisa Bonet) and dad (Lenny Kravitz), and they attended the 1989 press conference for Our Common Future together. Her acting debut came much later, in 2007, when she was almost 20 years old.

A young Jennifer Aniston. Perhaps because her parents, John Aniston and Nancy Dow, were both actors. She is a cutie.

Many people don't know that Brie Larson was an actor as a child. This was at the premiere of Snow Dogs (2002), but her career had actually begun four years earlier, and many people may have first heard of her in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, which was released in 2010.

In 1989, Halle Berry attended a benefit for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, where she was about 23 years old. This was very early in her career, shortly after moving to New York. Shortly thereafter, she moved to L.A., where she co-starred with Eddie Murphy in 1992 in “Boomerang.”

Jennifer Connelly was only 13 years old here when she appeared in “One Upon a Time in America” (her first film role) at the 1984 Cannes Film Festival. She began her professional career as a child model and continued modeling until she began to focus on acting.

Teenage Angelina Jolie wears a fun hat: in 1991, she was about 16 years old and tried her hand at modeling for a bit, but soon turned her attention to acting, her first screen appearance being in 1992's Lookin' to Get Out with her father Jon Voight ' to Get Out”.

Hello, Ryan Reynold's tiny little soul patch. For those who may not know, Reynolds starred in the hit TV show “2 Guy, A Girl, and a Pizza Place” (this was a 1998 ABC preview release before the show began, and Reynolds would be around 21 here).

This launch party for Tommy Hilfiger's new junior jeanswear line features a very young Scarlett Johansson. This is the same year that she had her breakout role in The Horse Whisperer, released in 1998. Here she is 13 years old, but had already been active since 1994.

We laughed out loud at The Rock's appearance at the 1999 Emmy Awards in a leopard-print silk shirt. He started wrestling in 1996, and by this time his career had really taken off (he was in his 20s here). However, he also made a cameo appearance in That '70s Show and began to crossover into regular acting.

Natalie Portman was very excited to be working with Tweety Bird. She was 14 or 15 years old, a little after making her acting debut at age 12 (1994's Léon: The Professional). Only a few years later, she would appear in the “Star Wars” prequels (released in 1999).

Did you know that Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert Downey Jr. were once in a relationship? This was around 1985, when they were both around 20 years old. They broke up in 1991.

If you have been a fan of Zendaya since her childhood as a child actor, this image will come as no surprise. But if you only know Zendaya as an adult actor, this is her acting debut in Shake It Up, where she would have been only about 13 years old. There are many great things ahead.

Why is it that young Kurt Russell looks so much like adult Kurt Russell? Technically, this photo was apparently taken in 1970. He would have been in the midst of playing a teenager on a 10-year contract with the Walt Disney Company.

Posing next to a tractor outside her home in Benoni, South Africa, in 1992, Charlize Theron was only about 17 in this photo; she moved to Los Angeles in 1994 and appeared in “The Devil's Advocate” a few years later.

Ack. This is from 1975, and DiCaprio started his career young, appearing in several commercials in the late 80s and movies in the early 90s, but he may have been a baby model. I want you to look at these cheeks.

By the time she appeared in “Eddie's Father's Courtship” (1969) at about age 7, Foster had already begun acting a bit. Her first job, also at age three, was in a Coppertone commercial. In this film, she plays the incredibly smart, punchy, and sassy Jodie. The film follows her trajectory.

This is where Elizabeth Taylor plays a bit part in “Lassie's Courage” (1946). Here she is only about 14 years old, and just two years earlier, when she was 12, she got her break in “National Velvet.”
