Jennifer Lopez's closeness with estranged husband Ben Affleck's oldest daughter, Violet, was revealed over the weekend when Lopez posted a video on Instagram of herself, Violet, and a friend driving through the Hamptons. (Lopez and Affleck celebrated their wedding anniversary last Tuesday.)

Lopez and Violet are close, and “Entertainment Tonight” reports that this closeness is “tricky” for Affleck, who has Serafina and Samuel with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. (Lopez has twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony.) The magazine notes that Affleck found himself “in a precarious situation” amid his marital troubles with Lopez dating back to March.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that Lopez and Affleck are “trying to make this transition as easy as possible and be nice to their children. They don't want to make things more upsetting than they already have been.”

After canceling their scheduled summer tour on May 31, Lopez and Affleck were mostly apart, with Lopez flying to Europe without him and then Affleck remaining on the West Coast for a good amount of time in the Hamptons, including both their July 4 and July 16 wedding anniversary spent there.

“Ben certainly doesn't want to cause tension between Jen and Violet and is supportive of spending time together. It's a little awkward for him, but both Jen and Ben want all their children to be happy, regardless of the problems they face in their marriage.”

The couple's shared home in Beverly Hills is listed at $68 million, and “they are looking to sell their home ASAP and move on. They want to have a clear, new, and healthy direction for themselves and their family.” They are trying to be strong, but it is a sad time for everyone, and it is difficult to have to deal with it all while playing everything out in public.”

“Page Six” reports that a source said, “They have been going through a phase where things are not working out due to personality differences and not spending enough time together. They are not always on the same page; they both have a lot on their plates with family and work stuff.”
