If you want to hear Adele's new song right away, don't hold your breath: “My tank is pretty empty.”
Adele is known for taking long periods of time between albums. For example, with six years between her previous two albums, 2015's “25” and 2021's “30,” fans are accustomed to waiting long enough between releases of new music. And that mindset seems to have not changed, as The Hollywood Reporter revealed that after her residencies in Las Vegas and Munich conclude this year, she will be taking a “big vacation” and has no plans for new music.
Prior to her few days in Munich, Adele told German broadcaster ZDF that she had been performing so much that her “tank is pretty empty” when asked if a sequel to “30” would be coming soon.
In Adele's own words, “There are no plans for new music at all. I just want a big break after all of this, and I'd like to do something else creative for a little while.”
She emphasized the point of burnout, saying, “You know, I don't even sing at home at all. How weird is that?”
.
As a Grammy-winning artist, Adele is so famous that Munich built a pop-up stadium just for her 10-show residency, which will take place throughout August. Adele announced the residency on Instagram in January, writing at the time, “I was too curious not to pursue and indulge this idea.” Fame, however, is a pet peeve of Adele's. She writes, “But I absolutely hate being famous, and I miss everything about me [before I was famous].”
Adele also writes, “I've always wanted to be famous, and I've always wanted to be a musician.
She became one of the world's most famous singers and launched her Las Vegas residency “Weekends with Adele” in 2022 at the Coliseum at Caesars Palace. The news that new music will not be released anytime soon should not shock fans. Adele herself said on stage at a residency show in January, “I don't think I'll be writing an album for a while.”
After her mini-residency in Munich, she will return to Las Vegas for the final 10 days of “Weekends with Adele,” which ends November 23, reports Bustle. “Residency, these shows have changed my life,” she wrote on Instagram last October. 'I needed to fall back in love with performing live. I needed to reconnect with my songs and remember what they meant to me.
As for the aforementioned “other creative things” Adele may be working on during her “big break,” acting may be one of them. in December, she told The Hollywood Reporter that she is interested in making her acting debut, but admitted that she has not yet decided what movie she wants to make I have one movie I want to do, but I'm not mentally ready yet for someone to write the script for it,” she said. Sometimes I talk to him about it, but he's not ready for it yet. But I really want to do that role. I think I can do it well. I think I can play it really, really, really well.”
Frankly, there's nothing Adele can't do. But right now” is a time of rest and renewal, a much deserved time.
