Chiefs Director Andy Reid Says Travis Kelce Could Be 'Waterboy' at Taylor Swift Concert
Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid has always been a big supporter of his player Travis Kelce's relationship with global superstar Taylor Swift.
During a recent appearance on the “Scoop City” podcast, Coach Reed explained why he thinks their love story could work.
“I think it's great for him,” he told hosts Chase Daniel and Diana Russini. “He can handle it - as a matter of fact, I think he probably loves it, up to a point. I think it's a great getaway for him.”
Reed continued, “I said that about Taylor as well, I mean, she can get away from having to come into the game and she kind of has to be on show. Travis can do that, and if he goes to her concert, she's the star and he can hang out and support and be the waterboy.
Kels is often spotted having fun with various celebrities at the Elas Tour shows and is never out of the spotlight. This changed somewhat when he appeared on stage during a girlfriend's date in London, but even then he was still very much a background act.
Similarly, when Swift attends a Chiefs game, for all the cameras pointed at her, she is clearly not the main event (well, you know, unless Swift is there where that is concerned).
In the podcast, Reed further described the personality traits that mean Kels is particularly suited for the fame that comes with his romantic relationships.
“She gets it all and he's kind of grown into it - their podcast is ridiculous. 'He's an outgoing guy, he lights up the room when he walks in. Everyone is his best friend. Until you prove him wrong, everyone is his best friend, so he can handle it."
[16Of course, Coach Reid is often asked about Tavis in interviews, so this isn't the first time he's talked about it; in February, on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Swift said, “I love the game and I obviously love Kelce.” (It is unclear whether she was imperfectly quoting lyrics from “Blank Space.”)
Cute!
