Natalie Portman jokes to Rihanna that meeting at Paris Fashion Week helped her get over her divorce

Natalie Portman's viral encounter with Rihanna at Paris Fashion Week in January was as big for her as it was for us.

Portman appeared on “The Tonight Show” starring Jimmy Fallon this week, and the host asked her about the sweet moment that was caught on camera and widely shared at the time.

“It was a wonderful experience for me,” the actress told him. I think every woman going through a divorce should be told by Rihanna, “You're a bad woman. It was exactly what I needed.”

After Fallon played a video of the two women interacting, Portman told him, “It was a formative moment in my life.”

The video of the sweet moment between the Fenty founder and the Black Swan actress went viral earlier this year, and both women went completely nuts for each other. [Portman ceremoniously said to Lili, “I. Love you.”

The singer then told her new friend that he was her biggest fan, to which Portman replied, “Are you kidding me?”

She said, “I'm not kidding.

Rihanna then told Portman, “You will forever be one of the hottest women in Hollywood,” bestowing the timeless honor. Both were clearly thrilled by the exchange.

According to People, Portman filed for divorce from her ex-husband Benjamin Millepied in July 2023, and the separation was finalized in February 2024 in France, Millepied's native country and where Portman still lives. They have two children, Aleph (13) and Amalia (7).

Their marriage was unfortunately plagued by rumors of an unsubstantiated affair on Millepied's part; in February, Portman said of the reports, “It's a terrible story, and I have no desire to be part of it.”

Since then, the actress seems to be living her best life, as she was spotted in London in May sharing a cigarette with Paul Mescall in matching T-shirts.

She appeared on Fallon to promote her upcoming TV miniseries “Lady in the Lake” on Apple TV+.
