The accident occurred on July 4 in Nuuk, Greenland, when a man on a mobility scooter apparently lost control, according to People. The Danish publication Ekstra Bladet revealed that the driver of the scooter confronted a royal guard and claimed that he did not know what had happened.
Royal commentator Kim Bach told the Danish publication that the security team should be criticized for the incident. She said, “Just because they are in Greenland doesn't mean they should not be vigilant. I know it's not a Ferrari or a Bentley, but still,' they continued.”
Thankfully, no one was injured in the accident and the Queen continued her official visit to Greenland with her family. The trip took place from June 29 to July 6, and the Danish royal family traveled from place to place on the royal ship Dannebrog, Ekstra Bladet reported.
Prior to her altercation with Scooter, Queen Mary had already had a very tumultuous year: in January, Queen Margrethe of Denmark announced that she was stepping down from the throne after a wonderful 52-year reign. She then handed the throne to her son, known as Crown Prince Frederik.
In May, King Frederik and Queen Mary celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary with a photo of them sailing on a royal ship. They looked extremely relaxed as they posed on deck wearing matching vests. The Danish Royal Family's Instagram account revealed, “After Their Majesties sailed yesterday from Denmark on the royal ship Dannebrog, the royal couple will arrive in Oslo a few hours later and depart for an official visit in Norway. 'Their arrival in the Norwegian capital is also a very special occasion. It is the 20th wedding anniversary of the King and Queen.”
