Meghan Markle's return to the UK is likely to be quite some time away, if new reports are to be believed. Prince Harry will reportedly spend the summer with the royal family, while his wife will likely stay at home in California.

A purported “source” claims to Closer that Princess Meghan is afraid to return to the UK for very specific reasons. The last thing Meghan needs is the stress of returning to the U.K. She is afraid of being abused again in public.

Although Princess Meghan has no plans to return to the UK, she is said to understand her husband's need to return. A source told the magazine, “Harry is very eager to return home to see his father, reunite with friends for his birthday in September, and visit his aunt, Princess Anne.” But for Princess Meghan, that situation has not changed.”

The Duchess of Sussex is also quite busy at the moment, as she reportedly fears being “heckled” by the public. She has her hands full with her brand [American Riviera Orchard], her new cooking show, and her children,” a source told ”Closer.

Despite not wanting to travel herself, Meghan reportedly supports Harry's decision to contact his family. The insider claimed, “She respects that Harry has to return home for practical and emotional reasons, but that doesn't mean she's going with him.”

Prince Harry recently spoke about the concerns he has about Princess Meghan's safety in a new documentary called “Tabloids on Trial” that aired on ITV in the UK. The documentary explores a series of high-profile court cases brought against several British tabloids, in which Prince Harry revealed his belief that certain publications have directed a large amount of hate toward his wife. As a result, Prince Harry does not believe it is safe for Princess Meghan to return to the UK anytime soon.

“It's still dangerous, and all it takes is one actor, one person who reads this stuff, to act on what they read,” Harry said in the documentary (as transcribed by People).
