Jennifer Aniston slams J.D. Vance's “childless cat lady” comment

Jennifer Aniston will absolutely not stand for the resurfaced comments made by J.D. Vance about women in 2021.

“I really can't believe this is coming from the vice presidential candidate of the United States,” Aniston wrote on her Instagram Story on Wednesday, accompanied by a quote from Vance's interview at the time.

“All I can say is... Ms. Vance, I hope your daughter will be fortunate enough to have a child of her own someday. I hope she does not have to resort to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her as well.”

In a 2021 Fox News interview, Vance said, “What I was basically trying to say is that this country is effectively run by childless catgirls through the Democratic Party, through the corporate oligarchs.

He went on to name specific people who he portrayed as such, including Vice President. [As you can see from Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, and AOC, the entire future of the Democratic Party is controlled by childless people.

“And what does it mean to put the country in the hands of people who have no direct stake in it?

Aniston reshared a post from Allison Janney, showing a video of Kamala Harris asking Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, “Can you think of a law that gives the government the power to make decisions about men's bodies?”

The Friends actress also re-posted a New Yorker cartoon in which a child says to her mother, “I can't lie, but the Supreme Court can do whatever it wants, right?”

She reposted the part where the child says, “I can't lie.

For Aniston, the topic of her biological child is personal, and she has publicly stated that she has struggled with in vitro fertilization in the past.

In an interview with Allure in 2022, the star explained that speculation that she was pregnant over the years was very painful for her. She said, “I did IVF, I did Chinese tea, I did everything. I did IVF, I drank Chinese tea. Freeze your eggs. Do it for yourself. I just didn't think so. So here I am today. The ship has sailed.”

Meanwhile, many have noted that Vice President Harris is not “childless,” as Vance puts it. She and her husband, Doug Emhoff, have stepchildren Cole and Ella.

In a 2019 essay for ELLE, the politician detailed her sweet relationship with her stepchildren over the years, writing, “When Doug and I got married, Cole, Ella, and I agreed that we did not like the term 'stepmother. Instead, they came up with the name 'Momala.'”
