Blake Lively transforms into a superhero in a Versace catsuit at the “Deadpool & Wolverine” premiere.
Blake Lively may not be on the cast list of the celebrity-studded “Deadpool & Wolverine,” as far as fans know. But in this superhero movie starring and produced by her husband Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively showed her support by doing what she does best: dominating the red carpet in style and theme.
Lively attended the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere in New York City on Monday, July 22. In keeping with Deadpool's red superhero suit, she arrived at the event wearing a stunning ruby red catsuit. The custom-made dress, designed by Versace, was off-the-shoulder and had long, glove-like sleeves. It also had glittery black lace detailing in the shape of roses throughout, plus matching satin pumps to camouflage the outfit.
Lively continued her high-fashion, crime-fighting look with a black ball and chain clutch bag by Judith Leiber. She also purchased sharp sword-shaped silver earrings and a diamond-studded wrap-around bracelet from Lorraine Schwartz and Ophira.
On the glamorous side, the Gossip Girl alum wore warm-toned eye makeup and a neutral pink lip. She also swept her blonde locks back into a super high ponytail.
The 36-year-old did not hire a stylist for the occasion, making her themed outfits more personal. (She also took the occasion to the next level in how she dressed by coordinating with her supermodel best friend Gigi Hadid.
While Lively opted for Deadpool, Hadid went Wolverine chic in a custom yellow cord from Miu Miu's Spring 2024 collection. The bandeau top, low-rise pleated skirt, black slingback heels, and accessories are all from Miu Miu.
Lively continued the themed look at the film's after-party, held at Jazz at Lincoln Center. She replaced her fiery catsuit with an off-the-shoulder blue and red latex mini-dress lined with red enamel rosettes from Balmain's Spring 2024 collection. Her hair was adorned with red roses and she paired it with bright red Christian Louboutin pumps. (Like Lively, Hadid was also in the Wolverine colors and near-naked trend, wearing a transparent yellow latex coat over a black bodysuit and a charm-embellished Miu Miu purse behind her)
.
Lively's coordinated outfits, on and off the red carpet, were not just in support of her boyfriend, Ryan Reynolds: rumors are swirling that Lively will make a cameo as Lady Deadpool in the next film, but so far nothing is confirmed. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet. With or without an appearance, Lively knows the power of method dressing. From Zendaya's back-to-back tennis cores in Challengers to Daisy Edgar-Jones' bohemian wardrobe in Twisters, the press tour has become the ultimate fashion playground in recent years.
