Prince Louis' absences from Wimbledon and the Taylor Swift concert were all part of a “discreet” plan, it seems.
It was a real pleasure, as it always is, to see Prince Louis join his family at Trooping the Colour on June 15. However, it was also a real treat to see Prince George and Princess Charlotte join Prince William (June 21 was Prince William's 42nd birthday) on Taylor Swift's tour at Wembley Stadium the same week, and to see Prince George and Princess Charlotte join Prince William last week (Prince George was on July 14 at the Euro 2024 in Germany with Prince William, and Princess Charlotte went to Wimbledon with Princess Kate on the same day), Prince Louis was not present at any of the parent-child sporting events.
Louis also failed to go to his grandfather King Charles' coronation concert in May 2023 (his siblings did) or attend the Royal Tour (which George and Charlotte checked off their respective to-do lists before they each turned 3). What does this mean? Where is the justice for Louis? Is there any danger that he will be overshadowed by Swift and Athletes?
According to the Mirror, apparently Louis' absence from the public eye is all part of a “discreet” plan: an appearance on True Royalty TV's “The Royal,” hosted by the Mirror's royal editor, Russell Myers, on ITV News' royal producer Lizzie Robinson explained that William and Kate are giving their youngest son a “gentle introduction” to public life.
“We've been really careful about how we do things and what we let them do” not only with Louis, but also with George and Charlotte.
“Not only with Louis, but with George and Charlotte as well. The fact that Louis wasn't taken away means that they are trying to figure out what is the right time for each child. So his time will come.” [George is 11 today (happy birthday!) and Charlotte is 9, and Louis turned 6 in April. As for Charlotte's appearance at Wimbledon with her mother, Marie Claire recently reported that she had fulfilled a long-standing promise, and Matt Wilkinson, royal editor of The Sun, said of William and Kate's only daughter, “She knows what Princess Catherine has been going through the last six or seven months. She knows what Catherine has been going through for the last six or seven months. She knows what Lady Catherine has been going through for the last six or seven months. It is a reward for her to sit with her mother, to see the accolades she has received and to have a pleasant day.”
He added, “The children have probably had a really difficult six or seven months, so to see her so proud and happy towards her mother was a real treat.”
Kate received a standing ovation when she arrived at the Royal Box at Wimbledon's Center Court. The reception she [Kate] received was incredible,” said Emily Nash, royal editor of Hello. 'When she entered, there was a spontaneous standing ovation, but what really touched me was the look on Charlotte's face. She looked up with a big smile on her face and was so proud.”
Louis' time can't come soon enough - seriously, we can't get enough of this kid and his antics, but for now, we'll take the publicity we get from him and the hijinks that come with it.
