Simone Biles, After Olympic Victory, "What's Next?" She's sick of people asking her "What's next?
There's one question Simone Biles hates to be asked after her Olympic success.
In a post on X on August 4,
the gymnastics icon pleaded, "I really wish people would stop asking athletes what comes next after winning a medal at the Olympics,"
adding, "Let me soak in the moments we've been working on our whole lives."
[6. While journalists and Biles' fans are understandably curious about when the gymnast will compete next, it is true that hearing such a thing so soon after she and other Olympic medalists have accomplished something great is undoubtedly going to devalue their accomplishments.
Furthermore, in her social media post, "What's the next step after winning a gold medal?"
commented one person. Biles replied, "Medal charms.""Teehee.
Incidentally, Biles' achievements at the 2024 Paris Olympics were truly remarkable. She won gold in the women's individual gymnastics vault final, gold in the women's individual all-around, and gold in the women's team all-around for Team USA, along with Suni Lee, Jordan Childs, Jade Carey, and Hesley Rivera.
This will be Biles' third Olympics after competing in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021.
Although she does not like questions, the GOAT answered a journalist at the press conference who wanted to know if she was considering competing in Los Angeles in her "next," i.e., 2028.
"Never say never," she said. 'The next Olympics will be held in my country. But I'm getting really old."
At 27, Biles is clearly not old, but she is "old" for the gymnastics world, and the average retirement age for female Olympic gymnasts is around 22.
This is not the first time the issue of her age and that of her teammates has surfaced in Paris. Last week, Biles revealed that her team's nickname is "Golden Girl."
For the record, Childs is 23, Lee is 21, Carey is 24, and Rivera is the youngest member of Team USA at 16.
