Meghan Markle and Prince Harry not invited to Balmoral - contrary to reports

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were not invited to spend the summer at Balmoral Castle with the royals, sources claim.

According to sources speaking to People this week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not on King Charles III's special guest list for the annual royal vacation at Balmoral Manor in the Scottish Highlands, adding another new snub.

People sources also claim that Harry and Meghan have not actually been invited to the estate in years, either before or after the Queen's death.

Since becoming king, Prince Charles has continued the tradition of inviting his extended family to the Scottish summer retreat, and this year the royals, including Prince William and Princess Kate, have accepted the offer.

However, despite previous reports that Prince Charles had wanted to invite the Sussexes to Balmoral, they had no such luck.

As of April, a source said of the possibility of Harry and Meghan accepting the invitation, "I can see Prince Charles being so eager to see his children that he would extend an olive branch to Meghan and Harry. Charles may decide that life is too short."

However, following the events earlier this year, there seems to be no sign of reconciliation between the Sussex family and the rest of the family.

In February, Harry was able to see his father for only 45 minutes after learning that the King had been diagnosed with cancer, and when the Duke visited the UK in May, Prince Charles was unable to meet him, citing his busy schedule.
