Delaney Lowe Reveals "Real Hero" Who Said She Loves TikToks

Welcome to Nice Talk, hosted by Marie Claire Editor-in-Chief Nikki Ogunike. Each week, Nikki sits down with a fascinating group of women - entertainers, entrepreneurs, creators, athletes, and changemakers - to discuss money, power, and style. For too long, "well-mannered" women have been discouraged from talking about these topics. Style should be effortless, and conversations about money and power are not "appropriate," "ladylike," or "nice." But Nikki's definition of "nice talk" is one where all parties walk away feeling empowered; Nice Talk with Nikki Ogunnaike is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Delaney Rowe may poke fun at Hollywood clichés on TikToks, but she has become a favorite content creator for celebrities.

Known for her videos that parody movie and TV clichés, Rowe told Marie Claire's "Nice Talk" podcast that several stars have reached out to her to praise her witty TikToks and sense of humor.

"The best part of having a platform," Lowe says, "is that it has given me this incredible access to my real heroes that I have loved, envied, followed, and grown up with. And all of a sudden, they send you a message and say, "I love your videos," Lowe says. [The actress/influencer reveals that Stranger Things' Hopper Sheriff David Harbour sent her "something incredible." Seth Rogen and Jamila Jamil also contacted her, she wrote.

Lowe said, "I said, 'Okay, I'm in touch with something. And it was incredible.'"

The L.A.-based talent was "a little fed up with not having any traction in the entertainment world" a few years ago when, from her take on the "insufferable" manic pixie dream girl in indie films to the movie trailer's From the quirky to the currently trending TikToks, he explains on "Nice Talk" that he started making TikToks. At first, Lowe says, he thought it was "a lot of fun" and "very freeing."

"Once you get popular with one video, you never forget that feeling. 'If I keep going, it has the potential to change my life. And before I knew it, it became my job, my business. And it changed my life."

Rowe, who initially aspired to be an actress, says she is "not afraid" to make fun of the kinds of projects she might try one day with her content. She says, "There are a lot of people that I look up to in the industry that have reached out to me and said they want to have meetings with me because of this video. So it means that the people I want to work with understand what I'm doing."

The TikTok star added, "The people I want to work with understand that I'm not making fun of anything other than bad writing and that anyone can do it."

Lowe goes into more detail about his experience going viral, having an online platform, and navigating brand partnership agreements on this week's "Nice Talk." The episode is now available everywhere you can listen to the podcast.
