Swimmer Katie Ledecky says "I can't speak for others" about peeing in the pool

Olympian and swimming goth Katie Ledecky has vowed not to pee in the pool.

In a recent interview with comedian Leslie Jones at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, the eight-time gold medalist and fastest woman in the water discussed her career as a world-class swimmer, including the less glamorous aspects of the sport.

"I'm looking at this pool and I know how long the lanes are, so I want to ask you: ...... How do you not pee in the pool? Jones asked the real question people want to know.

"Absolutely not," Ledecky answered emphatically, but Jones wasn't exactly convinced.

"So no one pees in the pool?" Jones asked.

"I can't speak for other people," Ledecky said. 'I definitely can't speak for others. I try not to think about this."

Ledecky opened up about his childhood and his never-ending love for the sport of swimming, in addition to (semi) speaking about whether the best swimmer on the planet actually pees in the pool.

"For me, I could do this sport without the competition. I love it that much." I love being able to spend most of my day in the pool."

Ledecky went on to say that he started swimming when he was only six years old, having joined a summer league swim team as a child.

"The next year, in 2004, there was the Athens Olympics. It was the first Olympics I distinctly remember watching swim. And I thought, you have to be a superhero."

"It was so outlandish, I never dreamed I could reach that level," she added, admitting that despite winning eight gold medals at the Olympics, Ledecky does not consider herself a superhero.

Of course, the Internet (and the world) feels otherwise. Recently, Ledecky became a social media sensation when a video was released of him balancing a glass of chocolate milk on his head while swimming the length of a pool.

The video quickly went viral, and fans were shocked by her ability.

"This video of Kathleen Ledecky swimming while balancing on a glass of chocolate milk is more impressive to me than her seven Olympic gold medals," said one awe-struck fan, along with the same video highlighting Ledecky's swimming skills, which was previously posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Days worth of skill," another fan posted, noting that Ledecky is the most medal-winning female swimmer in history. No big deal.
