Simone Biles smirks at being "blocked" by Mykayla Skinner's Olympic drama.
Simone Biles is all out of tea after her team's big win on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Olympic champion Simone Biles cheekily wrote on X, "I'm blocked."
If you haven't been following the gymnastics drama since the Paris Olympics, you'll no doubt need some background at this point.
Namely, after Biles, Jordan Childs, Hesley Rivera, Sunisa Lee, and Jade Carey won the women's team gymnastics final on August 30 for the United States, three-time Olympian Biles blocked the gymnastics competition. 30, Olympic three-time winner, Biles posted a congratulatory photo on Instagram
with the enigmatic caption, "Lack of talent, laziness, Olympic champion. It couldn't be more symbolic. I feel like I need to apologize in order to redeem my first name."
All these avenues led to fellow former Olympic gymnast Mykayla Skinner. She angered fans of the sport in June when she said on YouTube about the current Team USA members, "Besides Simone [Biles], I feel like the talent and depth is not what it used to be. I mean, obviously, a lot of girls aren't working as hard. I mean, obviously, a lot of girls aren't working as hard. Yo
Basically, Biles referenced these comments in a tongue-in-cheek Instagram caption and seemed to want to prove Skinner wrong with her team's amazing accomplishments.
Biles and Skinner were teammates in 2016 and 2021 and were sweetly supportive of each other back then, but if fans' conclusions are correct, there is certainly a rift between the two women.
Still, after her comments hit the Internet, Skinner issued an apology in early July, writing, "I would like to formally apologize to Team USA and our gymnastics community ...... for my comments. I wish you all the best in Paris. I am rooting for you guys! Good luck, Team USA
