Meghan Markle Wants Prince Harry to "Let Go" of Security Lawsuit, Sources Claim

A royal source claimed that Meghan Markle hopes her husband Prince Harry will survive the lawsuit to better protect their family.

"She wants him to be free of all of this, but she also knows that he can't, because of everything he's been through and his love (for her and their children)," a former employee of the couple's Archwell Foundation, the latest cover story for this book told People in an exclusive interview for the book.

"She wants him to live in a world where he won't be burdened by this," the insider added.

The insider further went on to say that Markle supports her husband "100 percent" but "deeply wants him to let go of these lawsuits, be happy, and live in the now."

The Duke of Sussex has been involved in several lawsuits over the years, including several court battles against British tabloids, and "there is no issue more serious to him than security," People reported.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were stripped of their taxpayer-funded security after they left royal public service in 2020, the BBC reported at the time. Since then, the two have paid for their own privacy security both in the U.S. and while traveling abroad.

In 2022, a spokesperson and legal representative for Prince Harry and Markle confirmed that Duke Harry had applied for "judicial review of the Home Office's decision not to allow him to personally pay for police protection for himself and his family" during his visit to the UK.

"Prince Harry is a born and lifelong security risk. Prince Harry is sixth in line to the throne, has served two combat tours in Afghanistan, and in recent years his family has been subject to threats from neo-Nazis and extremists. His role within the royal family has changed, but his profile as a member of the royal family has not. Nor have the threats against him and his family changed."

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex privately fund a private security team for their family, but that security cannot replicate the police protection they need while in the UK. In the absence of such protection, Prince Harry and his family will not be able to return to their home."

In a recent interview with the ITV documentary Tabloids on Trial, the Duke of Sussex said that the UK is "still dangerous," adding that the continuing security risks are the reason he refuses to bring his family across the pond.

"All it takes is one actor, one person who reads this stuff, to act on what they read. And whether it's a knife or acid or whatever, these are the things that really concern me."

In another exclusive interview for People's recent cover story, a royal source revealed that Prince Charles has refused to answer Prince Harry's phone calls.

"Harry is frightened and feels that only his father can do anything," a royal source told the magazine. Another source added that the Duke of Sussex is "determined to protect his family at all costs."
