Princess Kate Slowly Devotes Herself to Her Children After "Fight to the Death," Official Says
Princess Kate's cancer diagnosis will radically alter her role as a member of the monarchy, sources say.
According to sources who spoke exclusively to The Daily Beast, Princess Kate Middleton's "brush with death" has changed her priorities, causing her to slow down and "focus on her family and children."
The magazine reports that the Princess of Wales "will continue to make less frequent public appearances and maintain a much more low-key appearance than before, even after she is expected to make a full recovery."
The same source said that Princess Kate's current prophylactic chemotherapy "is understood to be progressing well," but no date or indication was given as to when she might forgo the treatment.
"Princess Kate has been exceptionally open and honest about her health. 'Her attendance at Wimbledon and Trooping the Colour before the summer break was a clear signal that she is well,' a friend of the Crown Prince and Princess told the magazine. 'It's not over yet, but there is a lot of optimism and positivity out there.'
The couple's friend told the magazine that they were "very happy to see her."
In June, Middleton posted an update on her health before making a somewhat surprise (and very welcome) appearance at this year's Trooping the Colour.
"I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemo knows, there are good days and bad days," she wrote on Instagram. 'On the bad days, I feel weak, tired, and need to rest my body. But on good days, I feel stronger and I want to make the most of being well."

"On days when I feel well enough," she continued, "I am happy to participate in school life, spend personal time on things that give me energy and positive feelings, and start a little work at home.
According to Robert Jobson, author of A Biography of the Future Queen: A Biography of the Future Queen, Middleton remained "very calm" during her cancer treatment.
"She was very calm" during her cancer treatment.
"She is someone who wants to find solutions and rise above the noise and drama," the author told Hello! magazine. 'Given what she's been through, I think she doesn't want to waste her time with noise and drama when it comes to her own wellbeing.'
