John Legend to include backing vocals from wife Chrissy Teigen, daughter Luna, and son Miles on next album

John Legend has teamed up with some unexpected collaborators for his children's album.

On Friday, August 9, Legend announced in a touching Instagram post that he was working on "something special," while also revealing art created by his daughter Luna for a song on the album.

"I've been working on something very special and close to my heart, and I'm excited to share it with you," Legend wrote in the caption of the post.

"You all know how important music is to me and my family. You may remember that I posted a video of Chrissy and I singing the Purple Monkey song "Maybe" by Fisher Price Piano Gym to Esty. When we posted this video, many of you wished that we could sing her more lullabies and songs. Fisher-Price reached out to collaborate on a few songs.

The EGOT winner continued that Fisher-Price contacted him and "decided to make a whole album of sing-alongs and lullabies for children and families." [words of encouragement, comfort, love, togetherness, imagination, exploration, and GOING TO SLEEP!"] "I sat down at the family piano and wrote nine original songs filled with messages to share with my children. He also covered two songs from the Fisher-Price repertoire ("Three Little Birds" and "You Are My Sunshine") and included a bonus track." [Legend said the album, which will be released on August 30, is titled "My Favorite Dream" and the first single, titled "L-O-V-E," is "the anthem that represents the album."

In an exclusive interview with People, Legend said, "I had Luna design the art for each single from the children's album I'm working on."

"It was pretty cool," he added.

"It was definitely the first time I've ever had my daughter design the cover for a single.

"Anyone who knows me knows that I love to sing and talk about LOVE. This song is a celebration of love. As the lyrics say, "it's my favorite word," Legend wrote on Instagram.

"And I wrote this song because I believe in the power of love to uplift us all, to recognize each other's humanity despite our differences, and to change even our world."

In a subsequent post, Legend shared that the single "L-O-V-E" is now available and shared a photo of Luna's one-of-a-kind art accompanying the song.

"Thanks to artist Miss Luna for her beautiful artwork," Legend continued in the caption."

Legend's wife, model and TV host Chrissy Teigen, also posted on Instagram about the upcoming children's album and her husband (and daughter . And son!) ) posted in support of their latest musical and artistic venture.

"John finally made a lullaby album!!!" she wrote in the caption. L-O-V-E from John's album My Favorite Dream, featuring myself, Luna, and Miles.

"This is just the beginning of your recording career, dear," Legend posted in the comments section.
