Christina Applegate Says "Real Housewives" is Helping M.S. Heal

Christina Applegate spoke to James Corden about one thing that has really helped her cope with the challenges of living with multiple sclerosis.

"Reality TV has been very helpful. It's kind of like that for me," Applegate told the hosts of SiriusXM's This Life of Mine (via E! News).

The Dead to Me star explained, "People who know me well know that it's on in my room 24/7. I don't leave my room very often. I know it sounds depressing, but sometimes I just want to sleep. Yes, reality TV.

When Corden asked Applegate if she had a favorite show, she listed many. 'All of them. Any of them," and "Married... The "With Children" actress said. She said "Vanderpump Rules," "Below Deck," "The Real Housewives," and Gordon Ramsay's "Kitchen Nightmares.

The actress also described the specific appeal of these shows. She said, "I love seeing the imperfections of real people. 'Wow, these people, I love it. That's why I love reality shows.

Applegate has been beautifully open about her M.S. journey since first revealing it publicly in 2021.

At the Emmy Awards this past January, she received a standing ovation when she took the stage to announce the winner of Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Applegate, who was using a cane that day, told the audience, "Thank you so much! Oh my God! You are totally humiliating me, a disabled person, by standing up. I'm fine, I'm fine." She then said, "I'm fine.

The star, along with Selma Blair, is one of the two most famous people to open up about difficult M.S. symptoms.
