Jenny Garth Discusses Menopause's Impact on Fitness
Jennie Garth has bravely spoken out about how menopause is affecting her fitness.
"I'll be honest," the Beverly Hills, 90210 actress wrote on Instagram this week, along with videos of her lifting weights and using machines with a trainer at the gym.
"I have been struggling with my workouts lately," Garth continued. With travel, work schedules, body aches, not to mention menopause, it's a minefield physically and mentally every day."
"Here's the thing: ...... I stay motivated by forcing myself to work out.
The actress further discussed how she deals with this disconnect between what she wants to do and what her body can do.
"I have to remind myself to give myself some grace!" She wrote. 'I am doing the best I can.'
She then asked her followers for their best tips for staying motivated when not feeling 100 percent and concluded by acknowledging her trainer. She concluded by saying, " Thank you @jasonalivefitness for always pushing me enough and being patient and unobtrusive with my beautiful, hardworking body."
Garth's comment section was filled with people who completely empathized with what she was going through and shared how she kept at it.
The actress also shared Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like a Woman" as the soundtrack for her submission. Perfect.
Garth has been going through a really tough time lately since her former co-star Shannen Doherty tragically died last month during a long battle with cancer; on "The Today Show" in late July, the actress said she is "still really fresh and still processing [her grief]" (via Us Weekly).
Other 90210 alumni, including Tori Spelling, Gabrielle Carteris, and Jason Priestley, also paid touching tributes to Dougherty after her death.
