Viral TikTok Star Nala Smith Addresses "Hateful" and "Harsh" Comments She Receives Online

TikTok star Nala Smith, who went viral with her homemade recipes for PB&J and bubblegum, is getting tons of hate online.

In a new interview with GQ along with her husband Lucky Blue Smith, Nala Smith reveals what it's like to deal with the more egregious comments she receives on her videos and other social media platforms.

In particular, Nara explained that things got out of hand when she and Lucky Blue announced they were expecting their third baby together.

"People on Twitter were overjoyed and hated us," Nara explained of the online reaction at the time. She continued, "They would send us screenshots of people saying things that were extremely rude. But in a weird way, maybe that helped?" What this means is that she has since gained more fans.

Of particular note was a video in which she made bread from scratch in response to a child's request for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, making jam and frying peanuts in the process.

"It was the first video that really got wild engagement," she told GQ." People are either really into videos or they hate them."

She told GQ.

Elsewhere in the interview, Nara stressed that she does not make videos as a way to tell people how to live their lives.

"By no means am I saying this is normal or how it should be. I'm just putting out content to inspire people, whether it's a meal idea, a home-cooked meal I made for my toddler, my soothing voice, or whatever." Everyone can take whatever they want from my content."
