Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens, not forcing their future children to play sports.
Despite Simone Biles being the most accomplished American gymnast of all time, she apparently has no intention of forcing any children she may have in the future to follow in her athlete's footsteps.
In an exclusive interview in the latest issue of People, Biles' husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, says that he "isn't going to force anything" on his future children regarding sports.
"I'm not going to force anything on them if that's what they want to do," Owens told the magazine.
"If that's what they want to do, I'm not going to force them to do anything," Owens told the publication.
Owens continued that his wife and gymnastics GOAT "loves to take pictures" and that the two "will have framed ones" for their future children.
"But honestly, whatever they want to do, I support them 100%.
"But honestly, whatever they want to do, I'll support them 100 percent. It generally doesn't work out for the kids."When asked if they plan to have children, Owens answered simply and matter-of-factly.
"In the future, yeah. ." he said.
Biles gave a similar answer in an interview with TODAY on Tuesday, August 6.
"Me and Jonathan talk about kids all the time," Biles revealed. 'If we could, he would have one yesterday. Of course, we have goals we want to achieve before we have a family, but yes: it's definitely in our future."
"We've been talking about it for a while now.
Biles told TODAY co-host Hoda Kotb that she could "most definitely" imagine herself becoming a mother one day.
In a 2023 interview before her "redemption tour" comeback at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, Biles talked about finally realizing that there is life outside of gymnastics and outside of the tumbling mat, marriage, and potentially becoming a mother. She revealed that it clearly included.
"There is so much more to life than gymnastics. I love what I do." But at the end of the day, yes, I am a gymnast. But at the end of the day, yes, I am a gymnast.
"But I won't be doing gymnastics forever," she continued. 'But I won't be doing gymnastics forever. It's always about gymnastics. So right now, gymnastics is just part of what I do. Gymnastics doesn't define who I am anymore."
