Prince Harry Angry After 'Cruel' Argument With Meghan Markle
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seemed to have had a fairy-tale courtship and royal wedding. However, in his biography Spare, the prince opened up about the couple's more difficult moments, including an argument early in their relationship.
Meghan was introduced to Prince Harry in July 2016, and their romance progressed fairly quickly. In his book, Harry described a date they went on in December 2016, during which they grilled chicken while drinking wine and listening to James Taylor and Nina Simone. That night, however, things got testy when the prince seemed to "snap" at his future wife for no reason.
"Maybe the wine went to my head," Harry explained in Spare (via the Express). Harry explained in "Spare" (via.Express), "Maybe the wine got to my head. Somehow, when the conversation took an unexpected turn, I lost my temper. And I got angry. I was disproportionately, sloppily angry."
Unfortunately, communication between the couple broke down. Meg said things that I misunderstood," Harry writes. 'There were cultural differences, there was a language barrier. I thought: 'Why is she picking a fight with me?' I snapped at her and spoke harshly and cruelly."
Harry realized he had behaved badly when Megan left the room for about 15 minutes and did not return. When he finally went to find her, she was sitting on the bed and told him, "(I) absolutely cannot stand it when people talk to me like that." The Duchess of Sussex then tried to ascertain where Harry's anger came from and why he reacted the way he did. 'Where have you ever heard a man say that to a woman? 'When you were growing up, did you ever overhear adults talking like that? Yes."
Princess Meghan seemed to take a firm stand with Harry and said, "She was not going to tolerate a partner like that. Nor joint custody. That kind of life. She was not going to raise her children in an atmosphere of anger or disrespect."
According to Harry, after their disagreement, he sought therapy to work on the anger he felt. He writes, "It came from somewhere deep inside, somewhere that needed to be dug out, and it was clear that I needed help doing that work." They later married, had two children, and started a new life in California. In addition, Harry continues to advocate for the benefits of therapy, which has presumably changed his life for the better.
