Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reportedly no longer speaking
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's relationship has reportedly cooled considerably, and new reports suggest that the two are no longer speaking to each other.
On August 5, TMZ reported that Lopez and Affleck's alleged breakup was "not amicable" and that "lines of communication are closed." As a result, the "Ghibli" stars are reportedly not approaching divorce settlement. The magazine's sources claimed that Lopez and Affleck "don't talk in person or on the phone," and TMZ's sources suggested that the lack of communication "is really delaying their divorce." The site also suggested that "things will continue to move at a snail's pace until Ben and Jen start talking again."
Affleck and Lopez were plagued by breakup rumors this summer, and they even spent their second wedding anniversary apart. While Lopez celebrated her 55th birthday in the Hamptons with a fabulous Bridgerton-themed party, Affleck was nowhere to be seen.
According to TMZ, the "Get Right" singer and her husband should have a fairly easy divorce if they decide to end their marriage. The magazine noted that "they have a prenuptial agreement, and the only property that would have to be divided is the Beverly Hills mansion that is up for sale."
While waiting for the sale of the $68 million mansion they share, Affleck decided to purchase a brand new home. Affleck reportedly closed escrow on a $20 million bachelor pad in Pacific Palisades in July. The Oscar winner's dramatic purchase only added weight to the divorce rumors circulating about the once golden couple.
Speculation about the cause of the couple's alleged split has increased, with sources suggesting that Lopez and Affleck have "deeper" marital problems. A source told People, "The idea that Ben thinks Jennifer is too famous and didn't know their marriage was getting a lot of attention is not true." There are deeper issues at stake."
It seems that not all hope is lost for fans of the two, who sincerely hope they can repair their romance. Jennifer suggested that the two take some time to work things out," a source told Us Weekly in early July. Lopez and Affleck were said to be "living separate lives," but the magazine's source suggested that there is still "a glimmer of hope" that they will reunite. Only time will tell.
