Meghan Markle talks about her online safety while traveling in Colombia.

Meghan Markle's high-profile trip to Colombia sheds light on the dangers of social media and the importance of learning and practicing online safety.

On their first day in Bogota, Colombia, Prince Harry and Markle attended and participated in a summit focused on creating a “responsible digital future.”

During the summit, the duo joined Colombian Vice President Francia Marquez and Rappler co-founder and CEO and Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Ressa on a panel discussion titled “The Path to a Responsible Digital Future.”

“At the Arcewell Foundation, my wife and I believe that information integrity is a fundamental right,” Prince Harry said during the discussion, as reported by People.

“As long as people are allowed to spread lies and abuse, social cohesion as we know it is completely broken,” Harry continued.

“What happens within minutes on the Internet now happens on the streets.”

Markle, on the other hand, urged those in attendance and around the world to “be an example to the world of how we want our children to grow up and how we want to raise them.”
