Popular Australian breakdancer Rachel Gunn responds to “hate” after Olympic performance

Rachel Gunn, aka Raygun, the Australian breakdancer who made headlines for her performance at the Paris Olympics, has responded to all the “hate” she has been receiving.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Gunn told her followers, “Hi everyone, my name is Ray Gun. I want to start by thanking everyone who has supported me. I really appreciate the positivity and am happy to bring joy into your lives. That was my wish. I had no idea that it would open the door to so much hate.

She defended her performance, saying I took it very seriously. I prepared really hard for the Olympics and really gave it my all. It was an honor to be a part of the Australian Olympic team and to be a part of Breaking's Olympic debut. What the other athletes accomplished was just phenomenal.”

She further explained that she will enjoy “planned downtime” in Europe over the next few weeks and asked the media to stop “harassing” her friends, family, and fellow street dancers with questions about her.
