Jordan Childs opens up for the first time after “unsuccessful” appeal to return Olympic bronze medal.
Jordan Childs released a statement after being stripped of her bronze medal from the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In a post shared on Instagram, the gymnast said she was “overwhelmed” by the “love I have received over the past few days.”
“I am so grateful to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, USAG, and the USOPC for their unwavering support during this difficult time. As I was celebrating my Olympic accomplishments, I heard the devastating news that my bronze medal had been stripped from me.“I was confident in the appeal filed by USAG, which submitted comprehensive evidence that my scores were in accordance with the rules,” she continued. This appeal was unsuccessful.”
Childs continued, “I have no words” after the appeal was denied.
“I feel that this decision is unfair and a huge blow not only to me, but to everyone who has supported my journey. To add to the heartbreak, the racist attacks on social media are wrong and very hurtful.” I have put my heart and soul into this sport and am very proud to represent my culture and my country.” [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...]
