Royal hairstylist says only one actress has correctly recreated Princess Diana's hairstyle.
The late Princess Diana's hairdresser spoke out about the media's portrayal of the late Princess Diana.
In an interview with Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness for his podcast Pretty Curious, Sam McKnight styled Princess Diana's hair for seven years before her untimely death.
“For most people, it's not a mistake because it's just based on their perception, but I know the real person and it just looks like a pantomime to me,” McKnight explained at the time. Nevertheless, when I saw a clip of Elizabeth Debicki in the final season of The Crown, it was the first time I thought she was (doing it right).”
McKnight continued that actress Emma Colin, who also played Princess Diana on “The Crown,” “I glimpsed her too, but her wig wasn't as good.”
“But Elizabeth Debicki kind of worked out.
“But I feel like Elizabeth Debicki kind of worked out. [Apparently, the powers that be in the entertainment industry agree with McKnight, as Debicki won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of the late royalty in seasons 5 and 6 of “The Crown.”She was also nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
McKnight discussed how she eventually ended up meeting the late Princess of Wales.
“I had to photograph a young royal for British Vogue magazine, and she happened to be the last one,” McKnight explained. And this tall, leggy blonde bounced up the stairs and she made us say 'hello'”

The stylist said that Princess Diana's casual introductions and overall demeanor made her “very attractive, charming, and funny.”
“She held out her hand with a big smile and said (thus): 'Hello, I'm Diana. How may I help you?”
Princess Diana died in a horrific car accident in Paris, France, on August 31, 1997, at the age of 36. [At the time, her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, were 15 and 12 years old, respectively.
In the 2017 BBC documentary Diana, Seven Days, Prince William recalled that after learning of his mother's untimely death, he was “just completely paralyzed, disoriented, dizzy.”
