Katie Holmes Says She Doesn't Want Hollywood to “Tell” Her What to Wear

Actress and mother Katie Holmes opened up about society's almost constant expectations of celebrity.

In a recent interview with Town & Country, Holmes said that unlike in the past, “fashion really means a lot now.”

“It didn't used to be,” he said. As an actor, you didn't always get your picture taken on the street.” Now it's different, and it's flattering, but it doesn't change the way I live or the way I dress.”

The 45-year-old continued that she is “adamant” about living her life on her own terms instead of looking to the entertainment industry to tell her what to do and how to look.

“I'm adamant about living my life and not letting the industry dictate something as simple as what I wear or as complicated as what I do,” she explained. 'You don't want to be afraid of anything. [Recently, Holmes partnered with French fashion brand A.P.C. to put her celebrity name on a line of sweaters, shirts, miniskirts, and jeans.
