Flavor Flav unveils custom bronze watch made for gymnast Jordan Childs, who was stripped of her Olympic medal.

As the controversy over Jordan Childs and her Olympic bronze medal continues, one dedicated Paris 2024 Summer Games fan is standing up and telling her that she is a champion no matter what.

On Monday, August 12, the rapper and reality TV star revealed a custom bronze watch necklace he made for Childs, who missed out on an Olympic bronze medal after finishing third in the women's final floor competition.

“USA is going to fight the powers that be 、、、、 in between the hours,,, Imma always my promise man @ChilesJordan,” the Olympic enthusiast, along with a video of the custom necklace in all its sparkling, breathtaking bronze glory, formerly known as Twitter X, formerly known as Twitter.

Jordan's mother, Gina Childs, replied to the rapper, thanking her and her daughter for their love and support.

“Thank you. It means the world,” the proud mother posted on X, quoting Favor Flav's first post and tweeting. 'As you can imagine, she's not on any social sites right now. I'll share it with her.

As Marie Claire previously reported, on Saturday, August 10, five days after the women's final floor competition, the International Olympic Committee (IO) announced that a judge at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) had wrongly ruled that Childs had been awarded third place.

Initially, NBC reported at the time that Childs finished fifth with a score of 13.666. Shortly thereafter, Childs' coach “inquired about the calculation of her difficulty score” (which, according to the news outlet, was eventually accepted, raising Childs' score to 13.766 and moving her up to third place for the bronze medal).

Two Romanian gymnasts, Ana Barbos and Sabrina Manexa-Voinea, appealed the acceptance decision, arguing that the inquiry was received too late.

According to NBC, CAS determined that the inquiry was indeed made “one minute after the required timeframe”; according to NBC News, Childs' inquiry was submitted one minute and four seconds after her routine, and CAS ultimately ordered Childs to return the bronze medal.

In a statement provided to NBC, the IOC said it was “in contact with the Romanian NOC regarding the reallocation ceremony and with the USOPC regarding the return of the bronze medal.”

After Childs was stripped of her medal, Flavor Flav posted on X a promise to make her a bronze watch necklace. Hit up my girl,,, I gotchu,,!”

Obviously, he followed through on his promise.

Of course (and thankfully), it's not just Flavor Flave fighting for Childs' bronze medal (or bronze watch).

Shortly after the CAS ruling was handed down, USA Gymnastics announced that it would appeal the ruling.

“The video footage provided was not available to USA Gymnastics prior to the Court's decision, and USAG had not previously had an opportunity to submit it,” USA Gymnastics announced, requesting that “the ruling be modified and Childs' bronze medal score of 13.766 be reinstated.”

USA Gymnastics requested that.

On Monday, August 12, USA Gymnastics announced that an appeal it had made to CAS to return the medal to Childs had been denied.

“We are deeply disappointed with this notification and will continue to pursue all possible avenues and appeal processes, including an appeal to the Swiss Federal Court, to ensure Jordan's just scoring, ranking and medal award,” the organization added.
