Why Industry Star Myha'la Hesitates Marriage After Engagement to Armando Rivera

Industry star Myha'la is happily engaged, but that doesn't mean she's rushing to walk down the aisle anytime soon.

In a recent interview with Marie Claire, the actress and cover star professed her admiration for HBO's hit series “Industry,” in which she plays the titular character and ultimate outsider, Harper Stern, “slipping into her DMs in late 2020,” actor revealed that she and Armando Rivera are about to get married.

The two only got engaged last July, but Myha'la admitted she was not ready to commit to an official wedding date.

“I wish I could say I was financially stable enough to say, ‘Yeah, I'm going to say no to work,’” she explained, adding that she was “too scared” to make room on her calendar for a wedding.

“We want to buy real estate first and then pay for the wedding,” she continued. And since we live in New York, God only knows when or if that will happen,” she continued.

The actress admitted that she still “has to put thousands of dollars in rent on my credit card,” despite her appearances on the popular HBO show and the acclaimed Netflix film “Leave the World Behind.”

“It's really discouraging,” she said of the entertainment industry and how difficult it is to be financially (and consistently) successful.

Not that Myha'la doesn't envision a future that will certainly include both a house and a wedding.

“Of course,” she told Marie Claire.

Myha'la also has plans to have a family in the future, and the soon-to-be mom spoke candidly about the type of love she wants to experience.

“I can't wait to rip the heart out of my chest and give it to you,” she said she imagines she will inevitably tell her future children.

Michala says she is also open to a future full of possibilities she has yet to consider: ...... After all, she explained, the so-called impossible happened when she said yes and got engaged.

“It was one of those events where we were like, ‘Oh, we're going to be together forever,’” she said of the first time she met her fiancé in person, adding that the marriage “was special to him, so it became special to me too.”

Just before Marie Claire interviewed the industry star, Rivera proposed in the doorway of their shared New York apartment. To cement their engagement, they exchanged matching silver rings.

“I tried on sparkly things and diamonds, but they just didn't feel right on me,” explained Mihara.

No official wedding date has been set yet, and Myha'la is in no rush to mark anything on her calendar, but she says she absolutely knows “something is changing” in her life, both personally and professionally.

“I'm moving on to the next phase of my life,” she said.
