Princess Kate Tells Her Children They Are “Strong Enough” After Cancer Diagnosis
In March 2024, Princess Kate announced her cancer diagnosis to the world. Since then, Princess Kate has reportedly been “in no hurry” when it comes to raising Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. And now, one royal expert claims that she wants to “stay strong for the children” while the princess undergoes cancer treatment.
In an interview with The Sun, royal expert Phil Dampier discussed how the princess is coping with her cancer diagnosis. 'I think Kate has an inner core of steel,' he explained. 'She's very resolute... She reminds me a little bit of Prince Philip who passed away.”
Fortunately, Kate's “inner strength” has reportedly served her well as she continues to manage her health and raise three children. Dampier said, “I think she draws on those reserves very well,” before noting that Kate is likely to have a “stronger personality” than William. As a result, the crown princess's resilience is said to have been incredibly important to the entire family. Dampier said, “In many ways, despite her illness, of the two of them, Princess Kate is probably the stronger in overcoming her illness, and of course, she wants to be strong for her children.”
While any parent would wish their children well, all of Kate's children live in the spotlight as members of the British royal family. So the princess seems to have additional concerns regarding George, Charlotte, and Louis. As Dampier explained in an interview, “If she's strong enough to deal with it, it will spread to William and then to the children.”
Taking a step back from her official duties, Princess Kate appeared at the Wimbledon men's tennis final in 2024 with Trooping the Colour. Dampier explained, “It's a very good sign that we've seen Princess Kate twice in the last few weeks.” And it shows that she is clearly on the mend.” He continued, “Hopefully, she'll be back in action in a month or so, maybe in the fall.”
However, Dampier suggested that Kate is unlikely to rush her return to public life and will instead return slowly to official functions. As he told the magazine, “But as I said earlier, that is entirely on medical advice.” Meanwhile, Princess Kate and Prince William will be spending the summer with their children in Balmoral.
