Astrologer Explains How the Planets Influenced Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's Divorce

Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck this week after months of speculation.

Now an astrologer explained to Marie Claire how the planets have affected the pair's relationship, and how it ended.

“Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are both born under the sign of Leo, but they are very different people,” says Inbaal Honigmann, representing Tarotou. Their astrological data are not dissimilar, but the emphasis in their respective zodiac personality charts is very different.”

In Lopez's case, says Honigmann, it is “above all work and personal freedom, the passionate planet Mars in adventurous Sagittarius and the romantic planet Venus in fun-loving Gemini. She came into this world to experience life and live it fully and authentically. On the other hand,” the astrologer continues, ”Ben's focus is different, his eyes are on family.” With his Ascendant and Venus in balanced Libra, he wants to make time for everything and everyone that is important to him.” With passionate Mars in Virgo, he thinks long and hard before surrendering himself to anyone.

The couple's discord has long been a problem, according to sources who have commented on the couple themselves and their relationship. In short, it is believed that Affleck is uncomfortable in the limelight and Lopez wants to be in the limelight, or at least is used to it.

“August 20, the two-year anniversary of Beniffer's most recent wedding, was a tough date for the couple; J.Lo formally filed for divorce and filed with the court for a separation date of April 26, 2024,” Honigmann continues.

“Their relationship with Leo was not an easy one. Leo is a cheerful, positive, optimistic, and sexy sign, and they are natural leaders. Jennifer and Ben were both born under the sign of Leo, and they are both leaders.

But it's not just their personal charts that matter for the two stars: astrologers say that two dates - the date of filing for divorce and the date of their official separation - are also important.

“August 20 happened to be the end of Mercury retrograde.

“This astrological phenomenon is known to cause communication problems and words taken out of context; even then, the initial split may have been prompted by misunderstanding, since April 26 was only hours after the retrograde.”

And there is more: “Two dates, April 26 and August 20, are set just after the full moon. The physically separated April date is three days after the full moon, while the August date is just one day after the August full moon.” Each month, the full moon signifies a time when revelations come to light; the April full moon and the August full moon coming to light may have influenced Jen and Ben's marriage.”
