Will Prince Harry be removed from the line of succession in the Royal Family?
In January 2020, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced that they would be stepping down as heavyweights of the royal family. According to reports, Prince Harry was the driving force behind the Sussex couple's departure from the royal family. Since then, rifts have developed within the royal family, and Harry's relationship with his brother, Prince William, appears to be particularly strained. As of August 2024, Prince Harry is fifth in the line of succession to the British throne, followed by his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, respectively. Prince William is first in line of succession, followed by his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The source told the outlet, “If a member of the royal family permanently lives outside the UK and no longer fulfills his royal duties, the line of succession could be changed by statute.” If that happens, Harry's children could be removed from the line of succession.”
Robert Blackburn, professor of constitutional law at King's College London, also told the Express, “Like Edward VIII, Prince Harry declined to live abroad because he did not want to fulfill the expected royal role.” [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...]
