Selena Gomez Surprises High School Students with Request to Sing National Anthem
Singer and actress Selena Gomez made a surprise appearance at a Colorado high school.
On Saturday, August 31, the “Only Murder in the Building” star posted a series of photos and videos on Instagram of her visit to a local high school in Telluride, where excited high schoolers (and enthusiastic fans of one girls' volleyball team) were treated to a day, a week, a month, and perhaps a year of excitement.
“They asked!” The pop star captioned the post. “I can't help it, I've never been to Telluride before!”
The post also showed a sign the students made for Gomez, asking him to attend one of two volleyball games over the weekend and sing the national anthem.
“Selena Gomez, please sing the National Anthem @ one of the home games,” the students wrote, listing the date and time of the game and signing their name “THS volleyball team.”
A video shared by Gomez shows her entering the gym to the surprise and excitement of the high school volleyball team.
“I saw the sign, so I had to come,” she tells the crowd of youngsters, who laughed, covered their mouths, and were almost instinctively drawn toward her. [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...]
