Ben Affleck misses premiere of new movie starring Jennifer Lopez amid divorce row

Following Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's recent public divorce, the actor decided to forgo the premiere of the former couple's latest film.

On Friday, September 6, Lopez attended the premiere of her new film “Unstoppable” at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada. The film was produced by Artists Equity, a company that Affleck co-founded with his good friend Matt Damon.

Singer and actress Lopez made her first public appearance since filing for divorce from Affleck after two years of marriage.

Lopez wore a skin-baring silver Tamara Ralph “Revenge Dress.”

Affleck, however, was conspicuously absent from the festivities. Instead, she was spotted in Los Angeles, where she now lives after moving out of her multi-million dollar wedding mansion. (9]

Lopez filed for divorce from her husband on August 20, exactly two years after the two celebrated their Las Vegas wedding in Georgia. According to TMZ, which broke the news at the time, Lopez filed without an attorney and there is no prenuptial agreement between the two.

Sources who recently spoke to People claimed that the divorce could “get ugly,” in part because Lopez and Affleck did not have a prenuptial agreement before their marriage.

“There are some financial snags,” the source told the magazine at the time, and the two are handling the divorce in mediation with powerful divorce attorney Laura Wasser (who, according to People, has handled big-name actresses like Kim Kardashian and Kevin Costner in the past) She adds that she is.

As the exes continue to work through their split, Lopez reportedly wants to “rebuild her image” and is trying to make her marriage to Affleck as well as their rekindled romance the focus of her career through albums and documentaries.
