Taylor Swift and Travis Kells' relationship inspires new Lifetime movie

It finally happened: Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's torrid romance has inspired a new Lifetime movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cable network will premiere the film “Christmas in the Spotlight” as part of its holiday show “It's a Wonderful Lifetime.”

The film centers on a pop star named Bowie, who endures a string of failed relationships until he meets a professional football player at one concert.

Sound familiar?

According to the film's description, when the two go public, as the outlet reported, people “begin to question whether their feelings for each other are real or just a charade, and pressure mounts from the press, paparazzi, fans, and even family.”

The film is considered a holiday film because, according to the description, “they have until the end of the holiday season to decide whether they want to stay together or let it break up.”

As the magazine points out, even if the film is not “officially” inspired by Swift and Kells' real-life romance, the parallels between fact and fiction are striking.

In an earlier interview with the Wall Street Journal, Kelsey discussed the beginning of their relationship and how he essentially manifested their romance. [The Kansas City Chiefs tight end referred to the first text message he received from Swift after he called her on his hit podcast “New Heights” and “she told me what was going on and how I was lucky enough to let her contact me. She told me exactly what had happened and how I had been lucky enough to get in touch with her.”

“You're going to hate me for saying this, but . When she came to Arrowhead [KC's stadium], she used the big locker room as her dressing room, and her cousins were taking pictures in front of my locker,” he continued, alluding to their ‘doomed’ romance.

“When I met her in New York, it was like we had already talked, so we had a nice dinner, had a conversation, and anything could happen from there. And then I'm sitting here and I'm like: 'I don't know what's going to happen from there! And I sat here and said: and I said: and I said.

Swift also discussed the beginning of their relationship in an interview with TIME's Person of the Year.

“It all started when Travis was so adorable and accused me on his podcast. 'We started dating right after that. We started dating right after that. So we had a lot of time that nobody knew about. By the time we went to see our first match, we were a couple. I think some people think they saw our first date at that match.

Since going public with their relationship, they have been the target of online conspiracy theories, including claims that their relationship (like the movie) is a sham.

However, those closest to both Swift and Kells say they are “happier than ever.”
