On September 8, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96. The queen breathed her last at her Scottish residence, Balmoral Castle, but spent much of her last years living surrounded by her family at Windsor Castle. In fact, Prince William and Princess Kate decided to move to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor to spend their “last months” near the queen, according to royal expert Robert Jobson.

In his new book, “A Biography of Princess Catherine: Prince William] knows that time with his grandmother is precious, and is pleased that they have made that decision as a couple,” he writes. Princess Catherine continued, “Prince William understood the importance of being geographically close to the Queen in the last months of his life, when, as the future King, he would need to support both the Queen and his father.

The Crown Prince and Princess's decision was reportedly well received by the Queen and was a positive experience for the entire family. 'It really made a big difference,' Jobson wrote. 'They kept in regular contact, meeting in person or talking on the phone several times a week, which brought them closer together.' [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...]
