Princess Diana's family is working “hard” to resolve the rift between Prince Harry and Prince William.

The seemingly endless royal rift between Prince Harry and Prince William may not be so endless after all.

According to a new report in The Daily Beast, those close to the estranged siblings say that William's agreement to attend his uncle Robert Fellowes' funeral, which Harry would have also attended, is a sign that there is still hope for reconciliation between the two, and that the deceased His mother's family is reportedly orchestrating to make it happen.

“Perhaps the fact that it will always be a funeral with the boys under one roof, and that William did not boycott the funeral because Harry would attend, casts a ray of hope on an otherwise deeply depressing cul-de-sac,” a surviving member of Princess Diana's family, the Spencer A friend told The Daily Beast.

A Spencer family source further explained that Harry and William's surprise attendance together at their uncle's funeral made sense to those who knew them well.

“It is an important recognition of the fact that blood is thicker than water,” the source added.

“It is a mature and promising sign that private disagreements will not be allowed to overshadow important family events.”

Indeed, Harry and William's respective ties to Lady Jane are so strong that sources close to the Spencer family believe she could be the key to helping the brothers repair their relationship.

“Harry is still very close to his mother's family. If anyone can bring the brothers together, it would be Jane,” another source, who is said to be ‘a friend and neighbor of the Spencer family,’ told The Daily Beast.

If the information from sources close to Princess Diana's family is accurate, Jane could serve as a go-between for Harry and William in the future.

[16] “Behind the scenes, the Spencers are working hard to reconcile the brothers,” added a second Spencer source. They understand William's hurt over Harry's betrayal, but they also understand Harry's position based on the treatment Diana received from the Windsors.”
