Prince Harry and Prince William once turned a bomb shelter into a secret club.

Prince Harry and Prince William may not get along now, but as youngsters, the brothers got into plenty of mischief together.

In his book Battle of Brothers, royal expert Robert Lacey recounts some funny moments from William and Harry's youth. The brothers spent much of their time at Highgrove House, the summer home of their father, King Charles. According to Lacey, William and Harry found unusual ways to make their father's house more enjoyable.

The royal family “turned the bomb shelter in the basement of the house into ‘Club H’ and even provided a private disco and drinks trolley,” the Express reported. According to the magazine, Lacey said of William and Harry's unexpected attempt, “Club H turned Highgrove into quite a hot spot when Dad happened to be away. While Dad was away, 16-year-old William was already drinking well and his brother was intensively 'relaxing.'”

Prince William is said to be responsible for creating the bomb shelter disco. Lacey writes that “Club H was a source of inspiration for William, and his older friends set the pace for Harry's socializing.”

Of course, if their father were home, William and Harry would surrender their homemade disco, Lacey says. He writes, “The two brothers and their friends could all go out together to the Rattlebourne Inn in the village of Sherston, five miles away.”

Prince Harry himself has spoken of a special club he once created with his brother. In his memoir Spare, Harry wrote (via the Express), “We hid in the basement of Highgrove, usually with Willie. We called it Club H. H was supposed to stand for Harry, but it actually stood for Highgrove.”

Harry and William are reportedly not on good terms right now, but it is clear that they have a wonderful shared history. One hopes that one day Princess Diana's son will be able to reconcile.
