Meghan Markle and Prince Harry “invited” to spend Christmas with Princess Diana's family
Prince Harry recently returned to England to attend the funeral of his uncle, Sir Robert Fellowes. During this trip, the Duke of Sussex reportedly stayed at Althorpe House, Princess Diana's ancestral home. Harry is also reportedly still very close to his late maternal family. And now, new reports suggest that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may return to the UK in December at the invitation of Princess Diana's family.
According to the Express, Prince Harry, Meghan, and their children (Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet) received a Christmas invitation from Princess Diana's brother. 'Charles [Spencer] has invited Harry, Princess Meghan, and their children to Althorpe for Christmas this year,' a source told the magazine. 'It's too early to say whether they will take it up, but if they want to, the offer is there.'
The source said.
The Express also claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not yet received an invitation to the royal family festivities. However, since it is still September, there is no need to necessarily worry.
“Invitations to Sandringham have not yet been sent out, but that doesn't mean they won't receive one,” the source claimed. It is highly unlikely that an invitation [to Sandringham] will be extended, and I doubt they [the Sussexes] will accept it anyway.”
After Harry returned to England for his uncle's funeral, a report in The Daily Beast noted how important the Spencer family remained to the Duke of Sussex. A source also suggested that the Spencers could be the key to mending the relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry.
“Behind the scenes, the Spencers are working hard to reconcile the brothers,” one source told the outlet.
“They understand William's hurt over Harry's betrayal, but they also understand Harry's position based on the treatment Diana received from the Windsors.”
Meghan and Harry reportedly did not spend Christmas 2023 in England, but it appears that 2024 could be completely different.
