Meghan Markle and Oprah Winfrey made a surprise appearance together at a bookstore near their Montecito, California home this weekend, proving that they are neighbors who actually hang out together.

The event that brought the high-profile duo together was the grand opening of Godmothers Bookstore in Summerland, CA, on Saturday, September 7, and according to People, Markle and Winfrey were joined by author Shaka Senghor, astrologer Jennifer Freed, and attended the event along with new bookstore co-founders Jennifer Rudolph Walsh and Victoria Jackson.

Princess Meghan wore a sleeveless navy blue Club Monaco tuxedo jumpsuit and adorned it with classic diamond earrings during her surprise appearance.

Author Laura Lynn Jackson shared a photo on her Instagram Stories of Markle speaking on stage at the event, taken by People for posterity.
