Angelina Jolie and 16-year-old Vivienne reveal matching mother-daughter tattoos.
Actress and philanthropist Angelina Jolie revealed that she and her 16-year-old daughter Vivienne have matching mother-daughter tattoos.
In a recent interview with CR Fashion Book, Jolie said that she and her daughter decided to get matching tattoos as a way to commemorate a special time in their lives while working on the Broadway musical The Outsiders.
“I got ‘Stay Gold’ with my daughter Viv during ‘The Outsiders,’” she said. It means a lot to us, both separately and together.”
For those who don't know, the term “Stay Gold” refers to one of the original songs featured in the Broadway play that Jolie co-produced.
Jolie's mother-daughter tattoo is on her wrist, adding to her already extensive tattoo collection. The actress did not reveal where her 16-year-old daughter's tattoo is located.
In the same interview, Jolie also shared that her latest matching tattoo is not the only mother-sibling ink she shares with her children.
“There are some bards that are our own, that we share with some of our children,” she explained, but did not specify which children share matching ink with their mother.
Jolie's tattoos are somewhat famous; her arm tattoo depicts the coordinates of her children's birthplaces.
Hello! according to the report, she also sports a Buddhist talisman on the left side of her back dedicated to her son Maddox. The tattoo reads: “May your enemies flee far away. If you gain wealth, may it always be yours. May your beauty be asparagus. Wherever you go, may many accompany you, serve you, protect you, and surround you on all sides.”
Jolie's giant back tattoo, which she recently unveiled while attending the 81st Venice International Film Festival, is also significant and represents the four continents and the classical elements of earth, water, air, and fire.
Jolie shares 23-year-old Maddox and 20-year-old Pax, 19-year-old Zahara, 18-year-old Shilo, and 16-year-old Vivienne and her twin brother Knox with her ex-husband Brad Pitt.
In the same CR Fashion Book interview, the actress touched on how much her children meant to her, what they taught her, and how motherhood changed her life.
“There are too many to count, and I can't even name just one,” she said of what her children have taught her. 'But the moment you become a parent, you can never go back to being the first parent. Your life is for other people. It's a beautiful feeling.”
