Taylor Swift Donates $5 Million for Hurricane Helene and Milton Relief

Taylor Swift has donated $5 million to help those affected by the devastating Hurricanes Helene and Milton in the southeastern United States.

The charity Feeding America shared the news of Swift's donation on Instagram, with the following message signed by the organization's CEO Claire Babineaux-Fonte.

“We are incredibly grateful for Taylor Swift's generous donation of $5 million to Hurricane Helene and Milton relief efforts. The organization asked for further donations from those who can help, which can be made through the Feeding America website.

Marie Claire has also previously published a guide to help those affected by Helene, outlining the various ways in which one can contribute to relief efforts.

CNN reported that as of October 7, Helene's death toll stands at 232, with victims across six states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Virginia.

According to NPR, Milton crossed Florida overnight on October 9-10, causing widespread power outages and destructive flooding. CNN reports that deaths have already been reported in St. Lucie County.

Swift is known for her generous donations to important causes. According to The Guardian, she donated $1 million to tornado relief in Tennessee last December and another $1 million in 2020.

The pop star has made several donations to local organizations since the end of her Eras tour, including one to a food bank in Edinburgh in June.

Swift also donated $100,000 to the families of victims of the Kansas City Chiefs parade shooting in February and has made other significant donations over the years.
