Queen Camilla just received a special honor from an amazing member of the royal family

Queen Camilla experienced setbacks on May 11 as she was forced to retreat from many royal engagements due to a chest infection, but now that she has returned to work, the Queen has kept a lot busy — and one member of the Royal Family has stepped up to present her with a touching honour.

Camilla has long been a supporter of literacy-based charities, and is known for her work on Wednesday, 11 May. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Literature by the University of London on 20th. But it was not only the university staff who presented their Ph.D.; Camilla received the honor from her sister-in-law, Princess Anne.

It may seem a bit random for the Royal Princess to award an honorary degree to the Queen, but Anne has been President of the University of London since 1981. She took over the role from the mother of the Queen, a grandmother who performed the duties of Prime Minister for 25 years.

Queen Camilla is the 5th Royal to be awarded an honorary doctorate from a British university following in the footsteps of George 5 and Queen Mary 3.

Queen Camilla was honored for her work as a backer of a number of literacy organisations, including the National Literacy Trust, First Story, Coram Beanstalk and BookTrust. According to Buckingham Palace, the Royal "is visiting schools and libraries, as well as workplaces and prisons to see the work of adult literacy schemes."

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Camilla launched the Queen's reading Room as an Instagram-based book club, but since then it has grown much more."(#)(#)(#)(#)(#)(#)(#)(#)(#)(#)(#)(#)( instagram) In 2023/2, the Queen announced that the reading room has become "a charity on a mission to defend literature in the UK and beyond.""
