Elle MacPherson is open about her previous struggles with alcohol use in a new memoir.

In Elle:Life,Lessons,And Learning to Trust Yourself,published on Nov. On the 19th, the Australian supermodel recounts her difficult experience with drinking. In particular, she describes one incident that shows the extent of her struggle.

At some point, McPherson decided to go to a rehabilitation center, but first wanted to take a vacation in Ibiza with his family. She couldn't drink for the first 2 weeks of the trip, but one night when she was left alone with her children when her partner or friend went out to a nightclub, she felt sick that she couldn't go with them.

After her children slept, she took out a bottle of vodka and when she couldn't open it, she broke part of the bottle to get into it

"I hurried and poured myself a shot that could have been littered with shards of glass," MacPherson reported on page 6. "And I drank it." I remember thinking I loved this feeling. I missed it, sooo much."

This was a turning point for a model who, after making 3 shots, threw away the rest of the bottle and returned to London, where she lived at the time.

McPherson then entered a rehab facility in Arizona to help her calm down.

"Every day I actively, intentionally feed my health and nurture myself," she writes about her life now.

Reflecting on her struggle with alcohol use before she became sober, she says in the book, "My life looked great for everyone. Outside I had a beautiful job, but deep down, I was really struggling.
